Dear Tenure Reviewers,

Please accept this website as an official request to review my performance and materials in consideration for Tenure. This website dossier will provide proof of my teaching, advising, and professional capabilities, as well as my service to the Theatre Department at Point Park, and theatre community nation wide.

I was appointed Assistant Professor of Lighting Design and Technical Production starting in the fall of 2019. Since arriving at Point Park University, I have quickly become integrated into the Production Faculty and taken on the responsibility of reshaping the lighting design program within the department. While my first 5 years here have seen student uprisings, COVID, online productions and teaching, overhauls of policies, and several administration changes, I have proved my flexibility and adaptability by continuing to change and improve my teaching strategies based on the current environment, student needs, and feedback. And I continue to strive for diversity and inclusivity in my classrooms, collaboration between departments across the Conservatory, and a high standard of work on productions while still ensuring an environment where students are safe to learn and develop.

I have shown my deep devotion to the students, their learning process, and their success after leaving the COPA program. I have worked closely with the Production Faculty and Staff, and have redefined the lighting expectations for the students in my classes. I have also provided strong support for the students outside lighting design, mentoring many stage management and technical students as they move through classes and production assignments. I have been empowered by the students’ devotion to this program, and feel like I have become a great resource and pillar of support for their educational and professional pursuits.

I welcome your feedback in regards to the enclosed information. If I can provide any other examples or resources, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you for your time and consideration,

Cat Wilson
